Statutory Plate
Statutory Plate
1The EEC standard for statutory plates sets forth the requirements for vehicle identification plates, which are essential for vehicle registration and compliance with legal regulations. These plates provide crucial information about the vehicle, including its manufacturer, type approval number, vehaicle identification number (VIN), and other relevant data. This standard ensures that statutory plates are durable, legible, and securely attached to the vehicle.
Key Requirements:
Construction and Materials: The plates must be made from durable materials that can withstand various environmental conditions, including exposure to sunlight, rain, and mechanical wear. The information on the plates must remain legible throughout the vehicle's lifetime.
Information Display: The statutory plate must include specific details such as the manufacturer’s name, type approval number, VIN, maximum permissible weights, and other relevant technical data. The layout and font of the information must be standardized to ensure clarity and uniformity.
Attachment: The plate must be securely attached to the vehicle in a location that is easily accessible for inspection. It should be mounted in a way that prevents easy removal or tampering.
Legibility: The characters on the statutory plate must be of a size and font that ensures they are easily readable. The plate should also have a high contrast background to improve visibility.
The TAT Lab is authorized to perform testing and certification for compliance with the EEC standard for statutory plates. This includes conducting all necessary tests to ensure that statutory plates meet the specified standards for durability, legibility, and secure attachment. By performing these tests, TAT Lab helps ensure that vehicles in Iran comply with international standards, thereby enhancing regulatory compliance and road safety.
