In response to the advancement of new technologies in the automotive industry and the need to enhance vehicle safety, quality, and performance, the Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) has developed and issued a set of new technical requirements and standards for various types of vehicles.

These requirements have been developed based on the Iranian National Standards (INSO), incorporating international regulations and practices, particularly the United Nations Regulations for vehicles (UN Regulations), European Union Regulations (EU Regulations), and other internationally recognized standards.

The table below presents the standards related to vehicle safety, performance, environmental, and technical requirements. It includes standards applicable to various vehicle categories, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and other types of vehicles, and indicates the implementation status of each standard in accordance with the announced implementation schedule.

Implementation Schedule for New Vehicle Standards

According to the announced schedule, the new vehicle standards will be implemented in three phases:

• Phase 1: Effective from 23 September 2027
• Phase 2: Effective from 21 March 2030
• Phase 3: Effective from 20 March 2032

In addition, the standards included in the current list of 85 mandatory vehicle standards are considered to have already been implemented.

This classification helps vehicle manufacturers, component manufacturers, importers, and other automotive industry stakeholders stay informed about the status of technical requirements and the implementation schedule for the new standards, enabling them to plan accordingly to ensure product compliance.
