  • TAT Engineering Consulting and Technical Support Services

TAT's engineering consulting and technical support services include the following:

Technical Support for Sample Selection, Verification, and Preparation Prior to Official Testing

Support in selecting and preparing representative product samples at the component, system, or complete vehicle level, in accordance with the applicable standard requirements and project objectives.

Upon the client's request, TAT's independent consultants can provide technical consulting services to review the requirements for manufacturing or preparing the representative sample. The client remains solely responsible for the final selection, preparation, and approval of the sample. The objective of this service is to reduce the risk of non-compliance, minimize rework, avoid unnecessary preparation costs, and improve the technical readiness of the sample prior to official testing.

Development of Test and Validation Plans Aligned with Project Requirements

A tailored test and validation plan is developed based on the applicable standard requirements, the product's maturity level, the project objectives, and the identified technical risks.

  • Full Product or Vehicle Testing (Full Test)
  • Component or System Testing (Component/System Test)
  • Evaluation Using Buck, Mule, or Development Prototypes
  • Engineering Analysis and CAE-Based Validation, Where Applicable

This approach helps minimize rework, improve project time and cost management, and identify potential non-compliance risks at an early stage.

Technical Representation During Testing (Without Interfering with the Laboratory's Independent Judgment)

Upon the client's request, TAT's independent experts may attend the testing process to facilitate coordination and verify that the documentation and test conditions provided by the client are properly addressed.

  • Technical monitoring of the testing process against the requirements specified by the client, without interfering with the responsibilities or independent judgment of the testing laboratory.
  • Support for the Interpretation of Standard Requirements and Resolution of Technical Issues in Coordination with Clients and Regulatory Authorities
  • Review of documentation related to test conditions, test procedures, and sample requirements within the scope of the client's technical representative role.
  • Support for Documentation Completeness, Information Traceability, and Reduction of Technical Ambiguities in Project Documentation

This stage contributes to greater process transparency, reduced implementation errors, and more effective management of technical project risks.Support for Documentation Completeness, Information Traceability, and Reduction of Technical Ambiguities in Project Documentation

Preparation of Technical Documentation for Type Approval and Conformity of Production (COP)

TAT supports clients in the preparation, completion, review, and organization of the technical documentation required for submission to standards organizations, inspection bodies, testing laboratories, and other relevant regulatory authorities.

  • Product Information Documents and Associated Technical Annexes, Including Information Document Annexes, Where Applicable
  • Preparation of the Conformity of Production (COP) Plan Based on the Requirements of the Relevant Approval Authority and the Information Provided by the Client
  • Preparation of internal technical reports and supporting documentation. These documents are intended solely for technical support purposes and do not replace the official test reports issued by the testing laboratory or the decisions of the approval authority.

Technical documentation is prepared and organized, to the extent possible, based on the information provided by the client and in accordance with the formats and requirements specified by inspection bodies, standards organizations, or other relevant regulatory authorities.

Design, Planning, and Execution of Product Evaluation Tests, While Maintaining Impartiality Where Official Testing Is Involved

Depending on the project's requirements, TAT can design, plan, and perform engineering and product evaluation tests that are clearly separated from official Type Approval testing activities.

  • Structural Strength Testing
  • Durability Testing
  • Safety and Performance Testing
  • Environmental Testing (High Temperature, Low Temperature, Humidity, and Corrosion)
  • Road and Operational Testing Within the Scope of Project Requirements

These tests support preliminary product evaluation, design validation, early identification of product weaknesses, and mitigation of non-compliance risks prior to entering the official Type Approval process.

Technical and Regulatory Evaluation of Imported Vehicles Prior to Final Selection

The following services are available for vehicle importers:

  • Assessment of Mandatory Standards and Regulatory Requirements for Vehicle Importation
  • Preliminary Assessment of Vehicle Compliance with Applicable Technical, Regulatory, and Standard Requirements in Iran
  • Identification and Assessment of Potential Non-Compliance Risks Prior to Final Decision-Making
  • Technical Assessment of Different Vehicle Versions to Support Client Decision-Making
  • Upon the client's request, testing may be carried out in accordance with approved test methods, provided that all applicable requirements for impartiality and technical independence are maintained.

This service supports the early identification of technical and regulatory risks, helping reduce the likelihood of costly corrective actions after vehicle importation.

Technical and Operational Coordination with Testing Laboratories

TAT can assist clients with scheduling test activities, coordinating sample shipment, monitoring test progress, and managing technical and operational communications with domestic and international testing laboratories.

Preparation of the Design Verification Plan (DVP)

TAT can develop a Design Verification Plan (DVP) tailored to the product type, applicable standard requirements, product development stage, and project objectives.

  • Definition of Required Tests and Evaluation Activities
  • Definition of Test Methods and Applicable Standards
  • Definition of Required Test Sample Types and Quantities
  • Definition of Acceptance Criteria Based on Applicable Standards or Project Requirements
  • Definition of Project Schedule, Responsibilities, and Control Milestones

The DVP serves as the project's technical roadmap, providing a clear framework for product verification and validation while establishing the basis for managing testing activities, technical documentation, and engineering decisions.

Technical and Operational Coordination with Inspection Bodies and Foreign Technical Services for the E-Mark Approval Process

For clients seeking international Type Approval, TAT provides the following services:

  • Selection and Comparison of Technical Services Based on Product Type, Approval Scope, and Project Requirements

These services may include the following engineering analyses:

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Crash and Structural Safety Analysis
  • Durability, Fatigue, and Strength Analysis
  • Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Analysis, Where Required by the Project

Engineering analysis results are intended to support technical decision-making and shall not be considered a substitute for official testing, accredited laboratory test reports, or decisions issued by the approval authority.

  • Impartiality, Technical Independence, and Scope of Responsibility

Engineering consulting, project planning, technical documentation preparation, and project management services are provided by TAT's Engineering and Consulting Division and remain independent of official testing activities and the issuance of laboratory test reports. The provision of these services does not guarantee successful test results, Type Approval, the issuance of a Certificate of Conformity (CoC), or any decision made by a standards organization, inspection body, Technical Service, or any other competent authority.

In projects where TAT provides both engineering consulting services and testing laboratory services, risks to impartiality are identified, assessed, and appropriately controlled prior to the commencement of project activities.

Where a risk of conflict of interest exists, personnel who have participated in providing consulting services for a project shall not be involved in the official testing, technical review, approval, or authorization of laboratory test reports for the same project.

The results of official testing and conformity assessment activities are determined solely on the basis of applicable standard requirements, objective evidence, approved test methods, traceable data, and the laboratory's quality management system.
